A new Andalusian Tapas Bar from Overthrow Hospitality and Chef Amira Gharib

Condé Nest Traveler

“There is salt and bread between us.”

A love letter to a forgotten era.

Al-Andalus is a bold reimagining of tapas through the lens of Arab-Andalusian history, where the flavors of North Africa and the Levant once shaped the cuisine of southern Spain. Chef Amira draws from her Egyptian roots to create soulful, vegetable-forward dishes rooted in memory, meaning, and generosity.

With over 30 small plates, cocktails on tap, and one of the city’s most vibrant wine programs, Al-Andalus invites guests into a fast-paced, spirited room where hospitality is culture and food is conversation.

Dishes you can’t keep to yourself.

Try Them All

Yes, it’s a lot—but it’s not too much.

Tapas is meant to be a table full of plates—small, varied, and endlessly shareable. This isn’t a feast in the heavy sense; it’s a way of eating that invites curiosity and conversation. Ordering more isn’t overdoing it—it’s doing it right. Whether you go for the full lineup or build your own, let this be your guide: a generous spread is the norm, not the exception.

From the chef who brought you Soda Club.

Chef Amira Gharib returns with her most personal project yet. Drawing from Egyptian traditions and diasporic memory, she offers a new kind of tapas experience: grounded in culture, guided by flavor, and built for connection.

These are the dishes I grew up with, reimagined for the people I haven’t met yet.
